AI Policy Compass for Policy Professionals

Mila – Quebec AI Institute and PPF Academy are offering a joint learning program, AI Policy Compass: Navigating the Opportunities and Risks of artificial intelligence (AI). The program is designed to provide decision-makers and policymakers with a foundational understanding of AI technology, including an audit of current and emerging applications, its risks and transformative opportunities across all domains. It showcases the latest legal and regulatory approaches to AI around the world, and imparts the essential knowledge needed to shape the future of AI governance.

Mila - l'Institut québécois d'intelligence artificielle et l'Académie FPP proposent un programme d'apprentissage conjoint, la Boussole de Politique d'IA : Naviguer entre les Opportunités et les Risques de l'intelligence artificielle (IA). Ce programme est conçu pour fournir aux décideurs et aux responsables politiques une compréhension fondamentale de la technologie de l'IA, comprenant un audit des applications actuelles et émergentes, ainsi que des risques et des opportunités de transformation dans tous les domaines. Il met en valeur les dernières approches juridiques et réglementaires en matière d'IA à travers le monde, et transmet les connaissances essentielles nécessaires pour façonner l'avenir de la gouvernance de l'IA.

The program is offered in three different locations:  in Montréal (Mila offices, Little Italy neighborhood), Ottawa (PPF offices, downtown Ottawa) and Toronto (Location coming soon).

POLICY PROFESSIONALS

  • This program is for policy professionalsWe welcome leaders and policy professionals from all levels of government (federal, provincial and municipal) as well as the private, academic and non-profit sector who are working on the development of AI governance and policy initiatives in their respective field and sector. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from world renowned AI experts, as well as the chance to connect with peers facing similar experiences and challenges. Special emphasis will be put on real-world use cases and tools to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
  • AI Policy Compass for Policy Professionals: $1,800 + tax, including all materials. A 15% discount is offered for PPF and Mila members.
  • Ce programme s'adresse aux professionnels de la politique : Nous accueillons les leaders et les professionnels de la politique de tous les niveaux de gouvernement (fédéral, provincial et municipal), ainsi que du secteur privé, académique et non lucratif, qui travaillent sur le développement de la gouvernance de l'IA et des initiatives politiques dans leur domaine et secteur respectifs. Les participants auront l'opportunité d'entendre des experts mondialement reconnus en IA, ainsi que la possibilité de se connecter avec des pairs confrontés à des expériences et des défis similaires. Un accent particulier sera mis sur les cas d'utilisation du monde réel et les outils pour combler le fossé entre la théorie et la pratique.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to registration@ppforum.ca. The following policy applies without exception:

One month before the event

100% refund, minus 25% admin fee

Three weeks before the event

50% refund

Two weeks before the event

No refund

PPF COVID-19 Vaccine Policy 

(Effective April 6, 2022)

This policy is based on guidelines from Health Canada, Public Health Ontario and local health authorities.

As of March 21, the regulations for mandatory masking have been lifted in most settings. In line with the latest provincial guidance, proof of vaccination will not be required for event attendees. However, we do ask that event attendees are fully vaccinated (2 doses).

Although masking is no longer mandatory, we recommend that you wear a mask while attending PPF events. This not only protects you but those around you. We encourage everyone to take precautions based on their individual risk assessment and comfort level. If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you do not attend.

Only those who have registered are to attend the event. If a ticket needs to be transferred to someone who is not registered, please email registration@ppforum.ca.

By attending this event, you are voluntarily assuming any potential risk related to exposure to COVID-19.

This policy and measures will remain in place until further notice, will be reviewed periodically, and are subject to change in accordance with public health guidance and developments in our community.
